Danielle placed 3rd out of 14 in Intermediate Goat Showmanship, 4th out of 13 in midweight market goat class, 9th out of 13 in 13-24 month breeding class, 11th out of 21 in 0-6 month breeding class, 7th in lightweight market class, 3rd place scholarship for goat competitions, 2nd in senior hog skillathon, 4th in intermediate hog showmanship, 3rd place scholarship for hog competitions & 5th in market hog class.
2010 CHESAPEAKE 4-H LIVESTOCK SHOW & SALE
Danielle placed 1st in the kid doe breeding class & OVERALL GRAND CHAMPION BREEDING DOE with Trixie; 1st in the yearling doe breeding class & OVERALL RESERVE CHAMPION BREEDING DOE with Susie Q; and 1st in the senior doe breeding class with Ginger & her twins. She also placed 3rd in the heavy weight market class with her market wether, Tumbleweed, & 1st place and Grand Champion in the Intermediate Market goat showmanship class. In addition to her goats, Danielle also showed her hog, Petunia, & placed 3rd in her market hog class and 1st place & Champion in the Intermediate Hog Showmanship Class. Congratulations Danielle!!

In addition to Danielle, we had 3 other 4-Hers show market wethers from Dixieland Acres in the show -- all 3 did a fantastic job & we want to congratulate them!!
Julia Light (left) placed 1st in the mid weight market goat class and OVERALL GRAND CHAMPION MARKET GOAT with Prancer (Sire - Cracker Jack / Dam - Felicity). Julia also placed 5th in the Novice Goat Showmanship Class.
Madison Light (center) placed 2nd in the mid weight market goat class and 3RD OVERALL MARKET GOAT with Sprout (Sire - Cracker Jack / Dam - Callie). Madison also placed 2nd and Reserve Champion in the Junior Goat Showmanship Class.
Kaileigh Matthews (right) placed 3rd in the light weight goat class and 7th in the Senior Goat Showmanship class.
Congratulations to all 3 of you. The dam's of these winning wethers have been rebred to the same buck for Fall 2010 kids.
USBGA Show - Shelby NC - April 2010
EAST COAST THANKSGIVING EXTRAVAGANZA - NOV 2009
Danielle showed at the 3rd Annual East Coast Thanksgiving Extravaganza ABGA show in Winston-Salem, NC.
She always learns something new at every show, and we met some great goat people.
She came home with several ribbons, which was a bonus for her 1st ABGA show.
2009 VIRGINIA STATE FAIR
Danielle participated in the Youth Meat Goat Competition & the Youth Market Hog Competition at the 2009 Virginia State Fair. Meat goat placings: 1st in Skillathon, 1st in Herdsman, 6th in market goat, 6th in showmanship & 10th in breeding yearling class. Market hog placings: 5th & 7th place. In addition, she also won a scholarship for her goat placings. Below are a few photos from the fair:

Danielle participated in the Chesapeake 4-H Livestock Show & Sale held at the Chesapeake Jubilee, May 2009. Danielle took 3 goats, learned a lot & had a great time. She's already planning & looking forward to next year's show. Below are photos from the show.
